Here we go with yet another licensed movie to video game adaptation. Well, at least the possibilities of screwing it up are slightly lower (there’s always still a chance, after all) because it is a shooter… I think. Well, either way, Ubisoft unveiled its development of a The Expendables 2 video game adaptation for release this summer alongside the motion picture. Coming to XBLA, the Playstation Network and PC, The Expendables 2 Videogame brings together four of the films’ characters – Barney Ross (Stallone), Gunner Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) and Yin Yang (Jet Li) – in an adventure that is somewhat of a bridge between the two films.
Playable with up to three friends in house or online, The Expendables 2 Videogame will take you on an adventure to rescue a kidnapped billionaire from… well, you’ve got me. You’ll traverse Somalian deserts, Burmese jungles and similarly exotic locales, all to the backdrop of large-scale explosions. And apparently the game even has a leaderboard, for those itching to keep score. The Expendables 2 will be in theatres on August 17, and has a role featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme! Oh, and there are some other action hero types as well.
